All of our brush cutters are hot-dip galvanized, and built to last. The hot-dip process penetrates the pores of the steel which also hardens the steel for extra strength. This is not a galvanized coating. The paint on competitive brands may look nice at the point of purchase but will not last in the rugged environment in which these cutters are used. Corrosion will soon begin to eat away at the investment made in a painted brush cutter. The Bushmaster brush cutters are designed to be able to tilt the deck back perpendicular to the ground. This allows you to trim back limbs, and to come down onto brush and trees effectively mulching the brush. Many competitive models use an upright attachment plate which does not allow this valuable feature. Most competitive brush cutters use a pan, commonly reffered to as a stump jumper, as the blade carrier. The front end of the deck is cut back to expose the swivel blades approximately 3 in. This allows a cutting capacity of 4-6 inch trees. Competitive models do offer this open-throat design, but then use low pressure motors and smaller load bearings than these Bushmaster models.
