The direct drive system eliminates the gearbox, which makes for a much smoother running machine. The blade system is supported by the deck instead of the conventional gearbox which greatly reduces vibration during operation. The front end of this cutter is cut out to expose the blade approximately 2" which allows the cutting blade to engage the brush and small trees without needing to push them over with the mower deck which significantly increases cutting speed and increases the cutting capacity from 3"-4" to 4"-5". The Devastator blade carrier is diamond shaped and all four edges are sharpened. It has two replaceable, double sided blades attached to the carrier. The sharpened edges of the blade carrier increase the cutting performance by continuing to cut and mulch materials as they are pulled under the cutter deck. This relief valve will save the motor and bearings in the event you hit an object that cannot be cut, and it will save you money!
